Sustainability
At Nicola Bannister Fine Jewellery Atelier, we believe that beautiful jewellery should be created with respect for the planet and its resources. Our sustainable practices reflect our commitment to ethical sourcing and environmental responsibility. Please see specific details below.
Our Commitment
A Commitment to the Future
As we grow, we remain dedicated to enhancing our sustainable practices and reducing our environmental impact. Thank you for supporting our mission to create beautiful jewellery that respects the planet.
We source our stones as ethically and responsibly as possible, partnering with British stone dealers. If you prefer not to use new natural diamonds, we love to incorporate second-hand, old-cut diamonds into our designs. For those interested in lab-grown diamonds, please get in touch for more information.
Ethical Sourcing of Stones
As a small business, we take pride in creating jewellery that is never mass-produced. Many of our pieces are one of a kind, and we never hold large amounts of stock. Every item is handcrafted using ancient goldsmithing techniques, ensuring exceptional quality and artistry. By supporting small businesses like ours, you are contributing to a more sustainable future.

All metals used in our atelier are sourced from recycled materials. Our metal supplier exclusively provides recycled silver, gold, and platinum. The only exception is chain (it is not yet possible to source chain made from recycled metals). This is something we’d like to improve in the future.
Recycled Metals
We proudly offer remodelling services, allowing us to transform sentimental gold and gemstones into unique new pieces. This practice not only preserves memories but also minimises waste, representing one of the most sustainable ways to create fine jewellery.
